Field Recording Five

Foreign Languages interest me. Especially when someone is talking on the phone and throwing rocks at a sign at the same time. Taken directly after the previous recording. A little to the left of where that car was.

Field Recording Four

Do you know what them girls like? The sound of this. Most enjoyable recording. Go to dance. October 10th 4ish p.m. The same area as where the apartment was in the previous recording. People driving in and out of the lot. Good Music.

Field Recording Three

So...the next day I continued to follow the map thingy and This recording was done in the afternoon Tuesday October 7th around noon. I think it had actually rained the night before or morning of. I walked the line with my mini disc recorder on, but not on record. The loudest thing amplified in my ear was the sound of the raindrops hitting the gavel from the roof top of the apartment building. I was surprised at what a loud sound it could make. The exact location of the place is like umm...if I walk past the garden and take a left this apartment would be on my right...just look at the map.

Field Recording Two

According to the red line drawn on my map, I was to cross the street from where I was and go toward the garden between the houses and apartments. When I got there the thing that immediately caught my attention was the chirping of the birds. It seemed as if there were so many of them, then I questioned if it really was a garden or a club for birds. Looking around for where the sound was coming from I noticed a bird bath, a bird's nest and bird feeder.I did this directly after my first recording.

Field Recording One

The street and the sound of the cars was the first thing I was attracted to when I stepped out of my house. It was the loudest thing I could here first in the area I decided to do my drift in. This recording was done a couple houses to the right of my house on s.76th street between Waterford Ave and Howard Ave. I recorded this on Monday morning October 6th at about 9am.

My Drift Strategy

My Drift strategy was to draw a map of an area in my neighborhood (South Milwakee). After drawing the map I attempted to draw a square on it, with a red marker. That is where I was going to go. After going on the drift I added the landmarks, details and the sounds I recorded. X marks the spot of where I recorded my sounds. My drift was recorded in S.76th street between Waterford Avenue on the left and close to Howard Avenue on the right.
